WHEN I SUBMITTED TO CHRIST IS WHEN EVERTHING CHANGED.
I thought marriage was the picture perfect; stars aligned moment that movies show. But marriage is so much more than that, it was created to mirror Christ’s love. So indeed, it is this beautiful dance created by two imperfect people.
The first few years of our marriage were challenging, as it can be for many couples. From moving in together, learning each other’s quirks, how to communicate, and opening up about our insecurities. Some days it felt like I was fighting against a current. God spoke to me amongst the chaos, he told me to let go of the ideas I had created marriage to be. Christ had me search him and his word to find out the truth of marriage.
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23 NIV
You see, Christs love is unfailing; It is full of favor and grace! If we can love our spouse the way Christ loves us, we will understand that marriage is an assignment. Marriage will have hardship but do as Christ, LOVE, SHOW FAVOR, GIVE GRACE! Praise God for being the ultimate example of love!
