Bone Broth Hot Cocoa
As a chocolate lover who’s constantly seeking gut-healthy alternatives, incorporating bone broth into my daily cup of hot chocolate feels like the perfect balance between indulgence and wellness. While the combination of chocolate and bone broth may seem unconventional at first, it’s a unique way to boost my cocoa cravings with a nutritional edge.
Bone broth is renowned for its rich collagen content and gut-supporting properties. By adding it to hot chocolate, I not only satisfy my sweet tooth but also get an extra dose of protein and nutrients that support digestion and skin health. The savory undertones of bone broth blend surprisingly well with the depth of cocoa, especially when paired with the creamy richness of raw milk and a touch of sucanat for natural sweetness.
This hot chocolate is not just a comforting treat—it’s a warm, nourishing choice. It allows me to enjoy my favorite flavor while giving my body something beneficial. In an era where wellness often seems like a chore, this delicious, bone-broth-infused hot chocolate is a daily reminder that healthy choices can be enjoyable, rich in flavor, and indulgent.
Adding homemade marshmallows to my bone broth hot chocolate recipe transforms an already nourishing drink into a truly indulgent experience. Making marshmallows from scratch gives me control over the ingredients, allowing me to skip processed sugars and use natural sweeteners like sucanat. Homemade marshmallows have a delightful, airy texture that melts smoothly into the warm chocolate, creating a creamy, frothy layer that makes every sip feel luxurious. Unlike store-bought options, these marshmallows can be made with gut-friendly ingredients such as gelatin, which further supports digestion and skin health. Gelatin provides a lovely bouncy texture while boosting collagen intake—a perfect complement to the collagen in the bone broth.
