Maple Vanilla Marshmallows

Nourishing grass-fed marshmallows are easy to make and will soon become your new favorite snack. Not only are these marshmallows delicious but packed full of collagen, antioxidants, riboflavin, zinc, magnesium, and potassium.

What is so good about Gelatin?

Essentially broken-down gelatin is collagen, and it widely proving itself to be a nutrient powerhouse. Packed full of fast absorbing proteins, a range of amino acids vital to our health. Gelatin is well known to be highly nutritious for our skin, joints, muscles, tendons, bones, it promotes healthy brain function, keeps excess inflammation in check, promotes deeper sleep, and improves gut health.

In my opinion maple syrup is the superior sweetener loaded with magnesium, zinc, calcium, potassium, iron, manganese. Let’s face it, it’s delicious 🤤!

So, let’s ditch the store bought marshmallows that are filled with preservatives, artificial food dye and high fructose corn syrup. Lets switch to these delicious yet easy Maple Vanilla Marshmallows that are fluffy, soft and melt magically in hot chocolate.

Maple Vanilla Marshmallows

With just six simple ingredients you can have nourishing marshmallows

Equipment

  • Stand Mixer
  • Medium Saucepan
  • 9×13 Baking Dish

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Cup Water ,(Divided)
  • 4 Tbsp Grass-Fed Gelatin  / I use –perfectsupplements
  • 1/2 Cup Maple Syrup
  • 1/2 Cup Cane Sugar
  • 2 Tsp vanilla bean paste (or Vanilla Extract)
  • 1/4 Tsp Sea Salt

Instructions
 

  • Using butter lightly grease the 9 x 13 pan, then dust with powdered sugar and set aside.
  • In a stand mixer add 3/4 a cup of water, sprinkle gelatin in an even thin layer across the top.
  • Meanwhile, Combine the remaining 1/4cup water, maple syrup, and sugar in a saucepan and heat on medium until sugar has dissolved but before it reaches boiling point. Let the mixture simmer for 2-3 minutes, then turn off heat.
  • Turn your mixer on low (about speed 3) and begin mixing the gelatin and water. Slowly add in the hot ingredients and mix on low until gelatin is incorporated, then add salt.
  • Increase mixer to high speed (setting 7-8). Set a timer 6 minutes. Mix until mixture is thick, fluffy, and looks like marshmallow fluff then add vanilla paste.
  • Once the vanilla bean paste is added, whisk for an additional 4 to 6 minutes.
  • As the timer is complete(the marshmallow should be pourable), be prepared to quickly scrape the marshmallow out of the stand mixer into pan. *Marshmallows set quickly.*
  • Allow the marshmallows the set for 30 minutes up to 12 hours uncovered. Enjoy!
