Mama’s Golden Milk Latte

A warm and spicy postpartum drink is the perfect addition to your bedtime routine helping you feel sustained through the late night nursing sessions.

Ingredients
  

Mama’s Golden Milk Paste
  • 40 Medjool Dates, pitted
  • 1/3 Cup Ghee, melted
  • 1/2 Tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • 1 Tsp Ground Fennel Seed
  • 2 Tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 1/2 Tsp Ground Saigon Cinnamon
  • 2 1/2 Tsp Ground Cardamom
  • 1-2 Tbsp Ground Ginger

  • 1 Cup Raw Milk, or preferred milk
  • 2 Tbsp Golden Milk Paste
  • 1 Serving Unflavored Collagen Powder (optional)

Equipment

  • Water Kettle
  • Food Processor

Method
 

Mama’s Golden Milk Paste
  1. In water kettle, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  2. Meanwhile, Pit medjool dates and add dates to a heat resistant bowl. Then, Cover with hot water and soak for 10-30 minutes.
  3. removed the soaked dates from water and add to a high-speed blender or food processor (reserve the water to add a couple tablespoons if needed) and process until smooth and paste-like.
  4. Once smooth, combine spices, ghee and vanilla extract blend til combined. 
  5. Transfer paste in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator up to a month.
Mama’s Golden Milk Latte
  1. In a small saucepan, Steam 8 ounces of milk to 140°F - 160°F.
  2. Whisk in 2 tablespoons of golden milk paste and if desired collagen, and whisk till frothy.
